Most of us are too caught up in the increasing pace of today's society to give thought to how we are treating the environment. However, we must stop and think if we are serious about rescuing our planet.

Today, overly aggressive cleaning products still dominate supermarket shelves. While many people stop to consider what they are placing into their supermarket trolleys, there is still a reluctance for consumers to move away from the "big brands"; and in the end sticking with harmful brands will cost us a lot more than our hip pockets.

The everyday choices we make as individuals can lead to a powerful shift in the market. As consumers' values change, multi-national corporations will have no choice but to align themselves with the shift and in turn be forced into becoming more accountable for what they produce. Only then will we see big changes in the industry.

"If we do not change direction, we are likely to end up where we are headed."
