How do you dispose of the PLA bottles, can they be tossed in the backyard compost heap?

These bottles can be recycled.  They can also be disposed of in industrial composts but backyard composts won’t reach the heat and humidity required to break down the bottles.

Why is there no scoop in the laundry powder?

We have made a conscious decision not to include a scoop as we feel this is an unnecessary waste of resources.  We have advised the dosage in tablespoon measurements as most people would have a tablespoon in their homes.

Does the laundry ball (EC 4 litre and Activ) have to be placed in the wash or can I tip the liquid into the detergent dispenser?

The laundry ball doesn’t have to be put into the wash.  Many people find it more convenient to place the ball directly in the washing machine as the ball then comes out clean.

Why can’t I use a top loader washing detergent in my front loader?

Specific front loader detergents contain an ingredient which keeps the suds to a minimum.  Top loader detergents don’t contain this ingredient which would cause them to have excess suds in a front loader.  In a detergent which is suitable for both top and front loaders the dosage for front loaders is much less to minimise this sudsing.

Why do our products contain methylchloroisothiazolinone and methylisothiazolinone?

We include methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone in our products as a preservative to avoid bacterial and microbial contamination.  They are in the smallest amounts possible.  These preservatives are only allowed to be used in ‘rinse off’ products as they can cause skin irritation in some people.  Back in the 1970’s when this was first introduced there were a spate of contact dermatitis issues due to it being in ‘leave on’ products such as skin creams.  This caused the laws to be changed so that these preservatives are only allowed in ‘rinse off’ products.  Until such a time as 100% plant derived technology becomes available, provides an effective result and is affordable, we have no choice but to continue to use these synthetic preservatives.  Many scientists believe that although there is a risk of irritation from these types of ingredients, the risk to skin and eyes from using a contaminated product is considered to be even greater
